In a December 13 THR interview, Timothée Chalamet clarified he didn't ask anyone to call him 'Bob' on set, though director James Mangold said he would not mind.
Mangold defended Chalamet's approach, emphasizing, 'We're here to make a fucking movie about a character and the shit-ton of judgment going to be leveled on that young man's shoulders.'
Chalamet also added, 'But all that stuff about in-character Method work, that's really not how I pushed this... [Method] wasn't my MO at all.'
Elle Fanning humorously noted her confusion: 'They told me I have a rehearsal with Bob. I got so excited. I thought Bob Dylan was coming, and it's Timmy.'
