Status Yellow rain warning issued for three counties as Met Eireann forecasts 'unsettled' week of weather
"As for today's forecast, it will be "unsettled and relatively mild" as the country prepares for a week dominated by rain and "higher than average" rainfall, according to Met Éireann. It follows what was a mixed bag of clear, sunny spells and showers yesterday with temperatures between 11C and 14C. The national forecaster has a similar outlook for the country today as clear skies will take over from the morning, turning to outbreaks of rain particularly in the south, spreading northwards in the evening."
"Tomorrow Monday will begin predominantly cloudy and rainy across all counties before clearer spells develop as rain clears northwards by the afternoon. Temperatures will reach between 9C and 12C. Heavier rain will arrive in the evening, possibly leading to spot flooding, coolest in the north. Tuesday will be an all-round wet and windy day with the possibility of flooding once more in parts. Temperatures will be between 12C and 15C as heavy rain returns in the evening with a cooler 7C to 11C."
A Status Yellow rainfall warning will be in effect from midnight Tuesday until noon for Cork, Kerry and Waterford, with persistent heavy rain likely to cause localised flooding, difficult travel conditions and poor visibility. Today will be unsettled and relatively mild with clear morning skies turning to outbreaks of rain, temperatures 11C–15C. Low pressure from the Atlantic will bring frequent and higher‑than‑average rainfall across the coming week with the potential for further warnings. Monday will be mostly cloudy and rainy with 9C–12C and heavier evening rain; Tuesday will be wet, windy and possibly flood‑prone with daytime 12C–15C, cooling overnight to 7C–11C.
