"The warning is valid from 2pm today until 9am tomorrow morning and promises to bring "persistent" and "heavy" rainfall, the forecaster said. It applies to counties Cork, Kerry and Waterford and threatens localised flooding and difficult travel conditions. These three counties were subject to the previous rain warning which expired this morning. Met Éireann has confirmed that the coming week will be dominated by gloomy conditions as clouds and "above average" rainfall are expected to spread nationwide."
