Stanley is recalling approximately 2.6 million Switchback and Trigger Action insulated travel mugs due to a defect where lid threads can shrink and detach, posing burn hazards.
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission reported 91 defect-related incidents, including 38 burn injuries, with prompt action advised for customers to seek free replacement lids.
The recall specifically excludes the popular Quencher series, with the affected products sold by major retailers like Amazon, Walmart, and Target at prices from $20 to $50.
Consumers should locate the product identification number at the bottom of their mugs to determine if their model falls under the recall and register for replacements.
