Witnesses have implicated former Metropolitan Police detective Bob Lambert in the 1987 bombing of Debenhams stores, alleging he was involved in planning and executing the attacks.
Lambert accepted that the evidence against him was potentially damaging and suggested that the witness’s recollection of details might have come from someone else, indicating a possible framing.
He stated, 'All telling lies on oath or affirmation to a public inquiry in order to exact revenge?' indicating his belief that his accusers were motivated by personal vendettas.
The bombings, attributed to the Animal Liberation Front, caused over £9 million worth of damage, with Lambert accused of being directly involved, including planting a bomb himself.
