"Impeachment is the fastest and the most effective way to end the confusion," said opposition leader Lee Jae-myung, emphasizing the urgency of the situation.
Yoon's already-low approval ratings have plummeted as people have taken to the streets demanding his resignation after his brief attempt to impose martial law.
The new impeachment vote will be held on Saturday at 4 pm local time, needing 200 votes for the motion to pass and move to the Constitutional Court.
