An investigation is underway regarding the death of an 85-year-old South Boston man involved in a multi-vehicle crash. The incident occurred on the F.E. Everett Turnpike and involved a 17-year-old girl driving a white Audi, which rear-ended a Lexus driven by Joseph Casper. The Lexus subsequently hit a pickup truck. Casper was brought to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. Both the teenage driver and the pickup truck driver suffered minor injuries. The cause of death and details of the crash are still under investigation.
Troopers responded around 2:48 p.m. Monday to reports of the three-vehicle crash on the F.E. Everett Turnpike northbound near the 7E exit.
Preliminary investigation indicates a 17-year-old girl was driving a white Audi north when it rear-ended a Lexus driven by Joseph Casper.
The Lexus crashed into a pickup truck that rolled onto its side. Joseph Casper was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The cause of Casper's death remains under investigation. All aspects of this crash remain under investigation.
