Sinn Fein's Matt Carthy labels Tanaiste's claims on party influence in the US on Palestine as 'bullsh*t'
Briefly

"I would have more respect for your position if I had seen the Sinn Féin party more robust in the United States where you have considerable influence and where you raise a lot of money. But your silence in the United States on the Palestinian question has been extraordinary," said the Foreign Affairs Minister, questioning Sinn Féin's engagement regarding the Gaza conflict despite their influence.
"That's bullsh*t and you know it," fired back Sinn Féin TD Matt Carthy, rebutting the Foreign Affairs Minister’s accusation. This exchange highlighted the deep-seated tensions and disagreements between the two parties regarding the issue of Palestine and their respective roles.
Mr Carthy also criticized the government parties, stating, "You have refused point blank to pass this bill in Government," underscoring Sinn Féin's commitment to the Occupied Territories Bill and their frustration over the perceived inaction of the Foreign Affairs Minister.
The Tánaiste's dismissal of Mr Carthy's remarks about political motivations, stating, "I don't take lectures from you," reflects the contentious atmosphere of the meeting, emphasizing the ongoing political battle surrounding the legislation related to Palestine.
