Sinead O'Connor urges children to "milk" unreleased music in will
Briefly

Sinead O'Connor's last will reveals her wishes regarding the posthumous release of her music, instructing her children to manage her unreleased tracks without hesitation. She aimed to prevent record companies from exploiting her legacy in the dark. O'Connor, who passed away in July 2023, left behind a significant estate of £1.7 million for her children, with detailed instructions in her will about its distribution, including naming her ex-husband as executor and bequeathing her guitar collection to her youngest child.
"I direct that after my death, and at the discretion of any of my children who are then over 18, my albums are to be released so as to 'milk it for what it's worth.'"
"Make sure the record companies don't start releasing my records and not telling you where the money is," she remembered telling them.
O'Connor left £1.7 million of her estate to her children, which amounted to £1.4 million after debts and legal fees were settled.
Signed in 2013, the will named O'Connor's ex-husband as the executor and left her guitar collection to her youngest child.
