Kristin Davis, known for her role on 'Sex and the City', recounted a past experience of lending $5,000 to an out-of-work actor during the 1990s. Highlighting her naivety, she noted the actor's financial struggles and even his motorcycle accident which hindered his job prospects. Despite her good intentions, she warned listeners on her podcast 'Are You A Charlotte?' about the pitfalls of lending money to romantic partners, expressing regret as it adversely affected their casual relationship and led him to ghost her after receiving the money.
At the time, I had money because I'd been working, and I was at his house, and he had all of these 'your electricity's gonna be turned off' notices that you get when you can't pay your bills.
Anyone listening, do not lend anyone money that you are dating. It doesn't end well. It really irked me.
I probably should have known better. But I just felt like I wanted to help.
It changed the dynamic in a horrible way.
