Several House Republicans Including James Comer Are Open to Imprisoning January 6th Committee Members

Several Republican members of Congress are advocating for potential imprisonment of January 6th Select Committee members, alleging manipulation of evidence and wrongdoing.

Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer stated, "If they broke the law, then they should [be imprisoned]." He criticized the committee for its handling of evidence.

Rep. Tim Burchett noted the committee members are "asking for their preemptive pardon," and that their actions seem "suspect and guilty."

Despite Trump's claims of the committee destroying evidence, no supporting evidence has emerged, highlighting ongoing partisan divisions and accusations.
