At least 12 people were killed when a concrete roof at the Novi Sad railway station collapsed. Authorities say more may be trapped under the rubble.
Over 80 rescuers are involved in the operation at the site. The rescue operation is expected to continue for several more hours as more people may still be trapped.
Prime Minister Milos Vucevic stated that this incident marks 'a black Friday for us, for all of Serbia,' emphasizing the need for accountability in ensuring safety.
The Novi Sad Railway Station had recently undergone renovations, reopening in July after three years of work. However, part of the building was still under construction.
