Searching for a missing father in the ravines and orange groves of Valencia

Cristian Macario, in search of his missing father after Valencia's flash floods, began rescuing efforts even before he realized his father was among the lost.

Using GPS data from a colleague's phone, Cristian and his brother have been combing vast areas of mud, making use of their military training to coordinate searches.

Cristian and his friends formed a WhatsApp group called 'Siempre Fuertes' to organize their search efforts, symbolizing their determination and hope amidst the tragedy.

In the midst of the chaos and despair, Cristian expressed his resolve, stating, 'I know we are groping in the dark, but if I stand still, I get nervous.'
