Saratoga continues work to reduce carbon emissions
Briefly

The city of Saratoga has reduced its carbon emissions by 29% since 1990, as outlined in a Climate Action Plan aiming for a 40% reduction by 2030.
While emissions have plateaued recently, the city's new electric water heater rules in 2027 are expected to further reduce natural gas consumption.
Vice Mayor Belal Aftab noted that emissions reductions have benefited from efforts of Silicon Valley Clean Energy, and expressed curiosity about future developments.
With ongoing initiatives like tree planting subsidies, Saratoga aims to continue reducing community emissions, alongside declines in electricity and transportation emissions.
