"We have also observed that the composition of shoe boxes has improved considerably in recent years. This means that it is no longer a case of people cutting up toys at home, but people are trying to work on giving children new toys of ever better quality," said Márk Szabó, coordinator of the Shoebox Action at the Baptist AID NGO.
"I think it served its purpose because the smiles on the faces of the children are unforgettable," Santa remarked after engaging with the children and contributing to the festive atmosphere of the event.
The event, organized by Baptist Aid-BBCF, showed that despite economic difficulties in Hungary, this year’s donations exceeded previous totals, highlighting community resilience.
