Ryanair boss Michael O'Leary calls press conference to respond to Elon Musk's 'Twitter tantrum'
"Ryanair's chief executive Michael O'Leary said in an interview with Newstalk that he would "pay no attention whatsoever" to Mr Musk, labelling him an "idiot" after being asked about Starlink being introduced on planes. Starlink is a satellite internet system developed by Mr Musk's aerospace company SpaceX. Mr O'Leary said it would be too costly as the aerial antenna would drag on the aircraft and "passengers wouldn't pay for internet usage"."
"The Tesla founder created a poll on the social media platform X, which he owns, asking his followers if he should buy Ryanair and "restore Ryan as their rightful ruler". It comes days after he previously made the suggestion amid a feud with the Irish airline over the use of Wi-Fi on flights. Ryanair's press conference will be held in Dublin at 10am on Wednesday, to address what Ryanair described as Musk's "Twitter tantrum"."
Elon Musk created a poll on X asking if he should buy Ryanair and "restore Ryan as their rightful ruler", escalating a feud. Ryanair mocked Musk, calling his actions a "Twitter tantrum" and "Twitshit", and launched a "great idiots" seat sale offering 100,000 seats for €16.99 "especially" for Musk and others, saying "Buy now before Musk gets one". CEO Michael O'Leary labelled Musk an "idiot", will hold a Dublin press conference, and said Starlink satellite internet would be too costly because aerial antennas would drag on aircraft and passengers would not pay for onboard internet.
