Lyubomir Korba was arrested and extradited from Dubai after fleeing hours after an attack. He is accused of ambushing and shooting Lieutenant General Vladimir Alekseyev in the stairway of his Moscow apartment building, wounding his arm, leg and chest; Alekseyev was hospitalized and underwent surgery. Korba was detained in Dubai with assistance from UAE partners. An alleged accomplice was arrested in Moscow while another, a woman, crossed into Ukraine; a search for the organisers is ongoing. Russian officials accused Ukraine of orchestrating the attack, which occurred a day after peace talks in Abu Dhabi concluded without a breakthrough.
