Manchester United's head coach, Ruben Amorim, has had to integrate several academy players into first-team training amidst a serious injury crisis. Despite the week starting well for the team, injuries and sickness have limited his squad. Notably, center-back Lisandro Martinez is out for the season due to an ACL tear, and other key players like Jonny Evans, Mason Mount, and Luke Shaw remain sidelined. With an upcoming match against Tottenham Hotspur, Amorim must rely on the few available players and has been discreet about the specific injuries and the young players promoted to training.
Not only did Amorim refuse to reveal which players were injury doubts, but he was tight-lipped when it came to the identities of the youngsters that made the leap up to first-team training.
Amorim was pushed on the involvement of Chido Obi-Martin, United's record-breaking 17-year-old striker who joined from Arsenal in October. 'I don't want to say names,' the Portuguese boss huffed.
Manchester United are already without Lisandro Martinez for the rest of the season... Amorim will be taking the few healthy players he can scramble together to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
