I have shared in the enthusiasm of the nation, and music fans in particular, that Rory's iconic guitar would be secured as an inspirational addition to our national heritage collection and a testimonial to his many achievements."
Sheena Crowley, who won the Epiphone Coronet guitar, reflected on her emotional experience, saying, "The auction was a nail biting experience. We have so much music heritage in Cork, and there are hundreds of families with so many great stories and so much memorabilia that should be shared and displayed." The strong community connection highlights the cultural significance of Gallagher's instruments.
The auction saw an impressive turnout with 94 lots sold, further showcasing the strong interest in Gallagher's legacy, with many attendees eager to participate. A third Fender Player Stratocaster HSS Electric Guitar sold for just over €22,000, with notable signatures from various famous musicians reflecting the collaborative spirit within the music community.
