Rome's Trevi Fountain, following a three-month renovation, has reopened to the public with visitor limits to manage crowds ahead of the 2025 Jubilee Holy Year.
Renovation work addressed significant issues of dirt, pollution, and limescale on the historic monument, ensuring its preservation and enhancing the visitor experience.
Visitors can currently toss coins into the fountain without a fee, a tradition that generates approximately 1.5 million euros annually for charity, Caritas.
Plans to further manage tourism include requiring online bookings and imposing a fee of 2 euros for entry, allowing guests 30 minutes to enjoy the site.
