Return to the wild: Endangered primates flown from Kent to Indonesia
Briefly

This month, ten endangered primates, a mix of Javan gibbons and langurs, were transported over 7,000 miles from Kent to Indonesia for rewilding efforts.
All primates were conscious throughout the journey and had access to their usual diet, ensuring their well-being during the lengthy flight to their native land.
The rehabilitation centre in Java will allow them to adapt back to their environment before being released into a protected site spanning 8,000 hectares.
Javan gibbons, such as Satu, face extinction due to habitat loss, hunting, and the illegal pet trade, prompting their relocation and conservation efforts.
