The Warner Bros. Studio Tour in Tokyo has recalled replica swords of Gryffindor's sword due to concerns that the sharp items breach Japan's strict weapon laws.
According to Japanese media, investigators found the replica swords sharp enough to violate Japan's weapons control laws, prompting a product recall and concerns about safety.
Although the studio ceased sales of the swords sold during the Harry Potter exhibit, many of the 351 sold for around 30,000 yen have appeared on resale platforms.
The company apologized for the inconvenience and advised customers to reach out for refund logistics, highlighting the implications of Japan’s stringent regulations on weapons.
