A Poulsbo woman called 911 after being surrounded by around 100 raccoons, which had come to expect food after being fed for 35 years.
Kevin McCarty, a spokesman for the Kitsap County Sheriff's Office, humorously remarked on the situation, suggesting that 'somehow the word got out in raccoon land.'
The local trapping company estimated it would cost the woman $500 per raccoon to remove them, totaling upward of $50,000.
