Crowds gathered outside stores this St Stephen's Day, drawn in by significant discounts and mega deals. Retailers like Arnotts offered as much as 50% off, attracting eager shoppers.
The general manager of Brown Thomas, Damien Deasy, stated, 'Queues formed early this morning outside Brown Thomas and Arnotts stores. We were delighted to welcome customers to stores right across the country who turned out in great numbers for our St Stephen's Day sales.'
An estimated €20 million an hour will be spent by Irish consumers during the festive sales, contrasting with last year's increased average household Christmas spending of €1,030.
Retail Excellence Ireland highlighted that some businesses earn 40% of their annual revenue from sales between mid-November and early January, with post-Christmas sales being crucial to this.
