A 10km surveillance zone and a 3km protection zone have been established around Kirriemuir after the detection of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI). This action aims to restrict the movement of poultry and related products to prevent further spread.
The Scottish government indicated that the risk to the public regarding HPAI remains very low, even for those exposed to infected birds, emphasizing that food safety is also minimally affected.
