"Today's cyber attacks are growing in sophistication, and AI plays a critical role in an organization's defence against these threats," he explained. "We are excited to tap into Cork's technical talent base to further strengthen our industry-leading AI-driven solutions, enabling us to detect and prevent emerging threats at an unprecedented scale, while keeping data secure.""
Proofpoint is expanding its international hub in Cork and launching a new AI Innovation Centre to support development of LLMs and advanced threat detection. The centre will host a 'privacy-attested AI environment' to preserve data safety and anonymity during model training. The location will enable acquisition of larger data sets to support high-volume, high-velocity use cases. The investment, backed by IDA Ireland, will create specialist roles including data scientists and AI/LLM experts, adding 45 new positions initially with plans to reach 100 additional roles and expanding security operations and data security teams.
