Schiphol Airport is partnering with Ericsson to develop a future-ready airport digital infrastructure, aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and passenger experience through 5G technology.
The collaboration will allow Schiphol to deploy operational systems that include predictive maintenance, improving safety and security, and responding effectively to the increasing passenger traffic.
By securing its own dedicated spectrum for the private 5G network, Schiphol can optimize network performance, ensuring low-latency connectivity essential for next-generation airport services.
In August 2024, Schiphol witnessed 43,118 flights, a nearly 4% increase from the previous year, highlighting the rising demand for efficient air travel services.
