During the opening ceremony of the 2025 Invictus Games in Vancouver, Nelly Furtado captured a playful moment with Meghan Markle, while Prince Harry humorously entered their selfie. Furtado performed at the event which celebrates wounded, injured, and sick service members, a cause close to Harry who founded the games in 2014 after his experiences in Afghanistan. The competition runs from February 8 to February 16 and features other artists including Katy Perry and Chris Martin. Markle expressed excitement for the event in her speech at a welcome reception.
Furtado gave a shocked expression over Harry's cameo as Markle looked back at her husband and laughed. The video ended with Furtado giving a thumbs up and Markle blowing a kiss at the camera.
Harry was inspired to found the event in 2014 after returning from Afghanistan with injured allies and witnessing the US Armed Forces' Warrior Games.
Markle spoke at a welcome reception for athletes saying, 'We are just thrilled to be here, it's a true honor.'
This year's competition is running from Feb. 8 to Feb. 16.
