The pool at Ardleigh Green Junior School, closed during the pandemic, is set for refurbishment to become a year-round facility under a new planning application.
Andrew Frater, COO of ELAT, mentioned the capital grant from the government will help refurbish the pool, ensuring it becomes a valuable asset for students.
The revival of the pool aligns with the vision of former headteacher John Morris, aiming to equip students with swimming skills without needing off-site travel.
Refurbishments will enhance the facility with a new roof, heating system, and upgraded changing rooms, increasing accessibility and functionality for the school.
