Santa Clara Co. District Attorney's Office Sexual Assault Unit Deputy District Attorney Christopher Paynter stated, 'We have reason to believe that there are at least 20, if not more,' victims involved in the case of Franklin Enrique Sarceño Orla. He added that the victims appear to have been either unconscious or intoxicated, which has been corroborated by the video evidence obtained by law enforcement.
Paynter also described a pattern in how the assaults occurred: 'Two ways that we seem to see a pattern of are either nightlife where it's either at a club or a bar, or some setting like that, where the victims would meet up and then something would happen after. Or, he would know them through the occupation that he had as a barber.'
Court documents reveal alarming details about the assaults, including one incident where 'one of the victims was unlawfully restrained while Sarceño Orla sodomized him.' This highlights the severity and criminality of Orla's actions and the distressing reality of the allegations.
The investigation reveals a deeper issue as Paynter states, 'Through the investigation, there has been video evidence obtained that does depict various assaults, and that's still information that we are processing and gathering.' This suggests ongoing efforts to uncover the full extent of Sarceño Orla's criminal behavior.
