PC Shaun Davies, a Met police officer, was dismissed and banned from policing for making racially discriminatory comments and exhibiting abusive behavior towards colleagues. The misconduct hearing revealed that he had engaged in racial abuse as far back as December 2009 and continued to exhibit prejudiced behavior until June 2010. Chief Superintendent Andrew Carter emphasized the unacceptability of Davies' actions, affirming that the police must uphold equality and diversity standards. As a result, Davies will be added to a barred list preventing future employment in policing roles.
The behaviour displayed by PC Shaun Davies is wholly unacceptable. We are committed to ensuring that actions do have consequences and anyone who displays such views is not fit to serve in our organisation.
PC Davies has been found to have breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour for equality and diversity, leading to his immediate dismissal and placement on the barred list.
