Plans have been proposed to transform School House in Rainham into a nine-bedroom house in multiple occupation (HMO) despite previous objections regarding community impact and living standards.
The failed application highlighted the council's concerns about a lack of suitable internal communal areas for future tenants and insufficient floor space, which did not meet the required standards.
Community opposition was significant, with seven locals voicing their concerns, highlighting potential antisocial behavior impacts on the nearby school and loss of a family-sized home.
These renewed plans aim to revise and address prior objections, particularly by creating individual en-suite bathrooms for each room, despite community and council reservations.
