Merlin Entertainments has proposed a redevelopment of the oldest area at Chessington World of Adventures, aimed at creating a 'wow factor' for visitors.
The new themed land will include both indoor and outdoor rollercoasters, an immersive children's ride, and enhanced facilities designed to attract families with children aged six to twelve.
Planning documents emphasize the urgent need for investment, stating that without it, visitor numbers at Chessington are projected to decline significantly.
Merlin’s ambition is to transform Chessington into a year-round destination, mitigating seasonal visitor peaks through the introduction of indoor attractions.
