Sadie Page emphasized that reducing access to valuable resources like libraries disproportionately affects those in need, stating, 'We rely on this free, safe communal space to foster relationships with other families.'
Richard Loren criticized the proposed reduction in hours, asserting that, 'It makes no sense to cut hours after the building had been recently refurbished...it is a valuable educational resource for the young.'
Cllr Emily Arkell noted the council's careful consideration of the public consultation results, which included 1,376 responses regarding the proposed reduced library hours.
