Israeli forces have fired at three U.N. positions in southern Lebanon over the past 24 hours, escalating tensions with international peacekeepers amid a week-long standoff.
U.N. Interim Force in Lebanon reported two peacekeepers were injured when an Israeli tank fired on an observation tower, highlighting the dangerous escalation.
Andrea Tenenti, the UNIFIL spokesperson, noted that the dynamic nature of the conflict is putting their peacekeepers at risk and hindering effective operations.
