Paul Mescal's childhood nose injury helped to seal role in 'Gladiator II', actor says
Briefly

Mescal explained that his broken nose was the 'reason' Scott cast him, as it reminded the director of actor Richard Harris who played Mescal's onscreen grandfather.
When the interviewer noted that no one knew his nose was going to be on movie screens worldwide one day, Mescal quipped: 'They didn't know it was going to be the reason that Ridley Scott cast me in Gladiator II.'
Last July, Scott revealed he scouted Mescal after watching his breakout role in the BBC drama series Normal People, stating he was impressed and saw the resemblance to Richard Harris.
Scott stated, 'I binge TV and saw this thing, Normal People, and thought, 'This kid is interesting,' and, 'f**k me, he looks like Richard Harris.'
