Passkeys take yet another big step towards killing off passwords
Briefly

The FIDO Alliance has published specifications for a Credential Exchange Protocol (CXP) and Credential Exchange Format (CXF) that will enable secure transferring of passkeys between devices.
The technology has made strides in securing online accounts, with about 12 billion accounts now utilizing passkeys, which have also significantly reduced phishing.
Passkeys can enhance security significantly compared to passwords by being up to 75% faster in sign-ins and eliminating credential reuse.
Recent improvements, like Google’s automatic syncing of passkeys across devices, aim to streamline user experiences further, making adopting this technology easier.
