This year, the government has seen a remarkable 270% increase in the number of individuals leaving voluntarily, with 648 people departing compared to 175 last year.
Apart from expediting applications for those from safe countries, Justice Minister Helen McEntee also noted a need to suspend visa-free travel for certain refugees.
