OpenAI removes certain content warnings from ChatGPT | TechCrunch
Briefly

OpenAI has decided to remove the warning messages from its ChatGPT chatbot, aimed at reducing unnecessary denials and allowing more freedom in user interactions. Head of product Nick Turley emphasized that users can now use ChatGPT more flexibly, provided they do not promote harm or illegal activities. Despite the removal, ChatGPT will still refuse to handle certain inappropriate inquiries. This change comes as OpenAI updates its Model Spec to ensure more open engagement with sensitive topics, marking a significant shift in the chatbot's operational framework.
As recently as a few months ago, ChatGPT users on Reddit reported seeing flags for topics related to mental health and depression, erotica, and fictional brutality.
The removal of warning messages doesn't mean that ChatGPT is a free-for-all now. The chatbot will still refuse to answer certain objectionable questions.
