Norway crown princess apologizes to royals for Epstein ties
"It is important for me to apologize to all of you whom I have disappointed,"
"Some of the content of the messages between Epstein and me does not represent the person I want to be."
"for the situation I have put the Royal Family in, especially the King and Queen."
Crown Princess Mette-Marit apologized for disappointing people and for the situation she has put the Royal Family in, particularly the King and Queen. The US Justice Department released a tranche of documents known as the Epstein files that mention her hundreds of times and include email exchanges revealing a close friendship with Jeffrey Epstein that continued for years after his 2008 conviction for soliciting a minor. Mette-Marit admitted in 2019 to having had contacts with Epstein, called it poor judgment and embarrassing, and prior relationships with convicted offenders had caused controversy when she married in 2001.
