North east outstrips South as UK's pay rise capital
Briefly

Despite a significant North-South divide, the latest Salary Trends Report highlights that workers in the North are seeing greater salary increases compared to their counterparts in the South.
Totaljobs' Chief People Officer Natalie Matalon remarked, 'Pay cheques tend to go a lot further in the North than they do in the South and – while there is clearly still a big North-South divide – places like Manchester, Newcastle, and Edinburgh are becoming increasingly attractive places to live and work.'
With 84% of North East employees receiving pay rises last year, the report emphasizes a shift in the economic landscape, highlighting the increasing appeal of Northern hubs for talent.
The report reveals that out of 17.5 million job adverts analyzed, sectors in the North East and Northern Ireland show some of the highest average salaries, especially in Technology and Engineering.
