NHL: Connor McDavid Not Rushing To Sign An Extension With The Oilers
Briefly

Connor McDavid plans to take his time deciding whether to re-sign with the Edmonton Oilers as his current contract expires after the 2025-26 season. He signed an eight-year, $100 million deal in 2017 running through 2025-26. Negotiations have not begun and all options remain on the table. McDavid's primary focus is winning with the Oilers and pursuing Olympic gold with Canada. Since being drafted in 2015 he helped the franchise reach the playoffs seven times in ten years but the Oilers lost consecutive Stanley Cup runs to the Florida Panthers the last two seasons. The team ideally wants a deal before October 7.

I have every intention to win in Edmonton,
It's my only focus, maybe next to winning a gold medal with Canada. But that is my intention: to win there.
