The officials mentioned the difficulty of estimating the number of missing individuals with Mayor van Zanen noting, 'But the reality is that there is only a slim chance of survival for them.'
Residents were warned to stay indoors due to smoke hazards, with local officials advising them to 'not open windows and turn off ventilation systems' during the emergency response.
