Briefly

The Nottinghamshire County Council has appointed Neos Networks to head the D2N2 Gigahubs project, focusing on delivering gigabit connectivity in rural Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. The initiative will provide internet speeds of up to 1,000Mbps to public buildings like schools and libraries suffering from inadequate broadband infrastructure. The £1.2m project is funded by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government and aims to activate around 28 sites by spring 2026, enhancing connectivity for vital public services in underserved areas of both counties.
The build and deployment of this new infrastructure will provide councils with a cost-effective solution to offer necessary connectivity to rural public service buildings.
