Nearly half of Tory councillors think remaining leadership candidates not good enough to win an election
Briefly

Chris Hopkins, Political Research Director at Savanta said, "Our research suggests a deep well of dissatisfaction among Conservative councillors about the choice on offer to them in the leadership contest. Councillors are the grassroots of any major party, and their views are usually a useful indication of the overall mood within the party, especially as we head into an election period."
Nearly half of Conservative councillors, 44%, believe that the remaining candidates for leadership are not good enough to win a general election, with only 41% expressing confidence in the contenders' capabilities.
When asked about their voting preferences, Kemi Badenoch leads with 31% support among councillors, while Robert Jenrick trails at 23%. Interestingly, 28% remain undecided.
Councillors are evenly split on whether Boris Johnson would be a better (41%) or worse (40%) leader than Kemi Badenoch, indicating a complex sentiment towards previous and potential leadership.
