MSPCA bringing dogs affected by California fires to Massachusetts
Briefly

The MSPCA-Angell announced it is transporting nine dogs impacted by Los Angeles wildfires to its shelter in Salem from Pasadena Humane Society. This effort follows the arrival of 37 cats from Louisiana due to severe weather. “Cross-country flights are really expensive and hard to coordinate,” explained Josie Waldron, detailing the logistical challenges. The dogs, ranging from 1 to 10 years old, will undergo a 48-hour quarantine before adoption. Waldron emphasized the need for adoptions to make space for more incoming animals as wildfire relief continues.
Cross-country flights are really expensive and hard to coordinate. The plane needs to be completely full, which is a huge number of animals-more than all shelters in Massachusetts can take in at once.
We would love for people to come out and adopt these dogs, but we also have a lot of amazing dogs already in our care looking for homes.
