Robbie Moore MP ripped into Sir Keir Starmer over his handling of the grooming gangs scandal when he was the chief prosecutor and said that Starmer "looked weak" and was "nervous" during a press conference.
Moore stated, "What's clear is he did not go far enough. He was in a prominent role to be able to deal with this issue, and he did not go far enough." He emphasized that anyone involved in "covering up" must face criminal prosecution.
Starmer countered by highlighting the presence of "lies and misinformation" regarding the grooming gangs, accusing the "far-right" of not prioritizing victims but focusing on their own interests. He expressed his concern over the issue being politicized.
Moore declared that the British state has consistently failed victims and families affected by grooming gangs and insisted, "We need that absolutely detailed, dedicated national inquiry that focuses on areas like the Bradford district."
