Inyo County Search & Rescue described Rodriguez as a 5-foot-9 male, weighing about 160 pounds and with brown hair and brown eyes.
At this time, it is unclear which route Rodriguez intended to take, and there are concerns that he may be without adequate gear and has limited hiking experience.
For Friday evening, the weather service said the wind chill could reach as low as negative 18 degrees.
The Inyo County Sheriff's Office and our Search and Rescue teams remain actively engaged in the ongoing search efforts on Mt. Whitney.
