Monsignor Jamie Gigantiello has been stripped of his responsibilities after mismanaging $2 million in church funds and violating directives from the Diocese.
The Diocese stated that these serious violations came to light during ongoing investigations related to federal corruption, linking church finances with political figures.
The findings revealed Gigantiello transferred $1.9 million in parish funds to bank accounts associated with Frank Carone's law firm and its affiliates.
His replacement, Deacon Dobbins, was also placed on administrative leave due to recording concerns, highlighting a troubling atmosphere within church administration.
