Molyon raises 4.3M to charge its lithium-sulfur battery tech
Briefly

Molyon has raised $4.6M to enhance its lithium-sulfur battery technology, aiming to overcome limitations of traditional Li-ion batteries while maximizing energy density.
The lithium-sulfur (Li-S) batteries developed by Molyon are projected to achieve energy densities of 500 Wh per kg, which is about twice that of typical lithium-ion batteries.
By utilizing metallic molybdenum disulfide as a cathode material, Molyon is addressing the cathode stability issues with lithium-sulfur batteries, which have stalled their commercialization.
Increased funding coupled with extensive research support from groups like the University of Cambridge and the European Research Council positions Molyon to broaden its team and manufacturing capabilities.
